1. Introduction
CampusDrop is a campus-only student social app for weekly Friend Drops, Date or Connection Drops, chat between matched users, anonymous confessions, roommate and room listings, referrals, support requests, and related campaigns.
This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, when it may be shared, and the choices available to you. Undefined terms may have the meanings given in our Terms.
2. Information we collect
We collect information you provide directly, information generated as you use CampusDrop, and limited technical information needed to run and secure the service.
- Account and authentication information, including your email address, OTP login activity, university or campus, and account timestamps.
- Profile information, including name, age, gender, program or branch, hometown, bio, interests, photos, mode preferences, and questionnaire answers.
- Matching and social activity, including Friend Drop and Date or Connection Drop preferences, match records, conversation metadata, messages sent to matched users, blocks, close friends, and feedback.
- User-generated content, including profile photos, confessions, confession comments or reports, roommate or room listings, and support submissions.
- Referral, invite, campaign, and outreach records, including referral links, invite status, campaign participation, and email delivery records.
- Analytics, page views, event tracking, device, browser, log, referrer, approximate location, IP-derived or hashed data, and diagnostic information used to improve and protect the product.
3. How we use information
- Authenticate users, send OTP codes, maintain sessions, and verify campus eligibility.
- Create profiles, run weekly matching, support Friend Drops and Date or Connection Drops, and show relevant profile context to matched users.
- Operate messages, confessions, roommate listings, support requests, referrals, campaigns, email notifications, and admin tools.
- Moderate content, review reports, prevent abuse, detect fake accounts, investigate safety concerns, and enforce our Terms and Guidelines.
- Understand feature usage, product performance, campus activity, and email campaign results through analytics and aggregated reporting.
- Communicate with you about your account, matches, profile completion, support tickets, referrals, campaigns, and product updates where permitted.
4. Sharing and disclosure
CampusDrop is social by design, so some information is shared as part of the product experience. We do not sell your personal information.
- Matched users may see profile information and messages needed to support the match and chat experience.
- Other students may see content you choose to post, such as confessions when not anonymous, confession comments, roommate posts, and public profile details shown by the app.
- Admins and moderators may access limited account, profile, content, support, analytics, referral, and moderation information when needed to run CampusDrop, support users, and enforce policies.
- Service providers may process information for hosting, storage, email delivery, authentication, analytics, messaging, moderation, support, and similar operational needs.
- We may disclose information when required by law or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect students, CampusDrop, our rights, or the public.
5. User-generated content
You are responsible for the content you submit to CampusDrop. Depending on the feature, your profile, photos, chats, confessions, comments, roommate listings, and support submissions may be visible to other users, matched users, admins, moderators, or service providers helping us operate the app.
6. Anonymous features
CampusDrop may offer anonymous confessions or similar features. Anonymous means other students should not see your profile identity through the feature. It does not mean CampusDrop has no technical or moderation records.
Admins may need access to limited technical, account, report, or moderation data to investigate abuse, threats, spam, safety incidents, or legal requests.
7. Data retention
- Account, profile, campus verification, match, and preference data may be kept while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward for security, audit, and operational needs.
- Messages, confessions, roommate posts, reports, and support logs may be retained as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, investigate safety concerns, or comply with law.
- Analytics, page views, referral records, campaign records, and email delivery logs may be kept in identifiable, pseudonymous, aggregated, or de-identified form for product, reporting, and abuse-prevention purposes.
- If automated account deletion is not available in the app, you can contact support to request deletion. Some records may be retained where required or permitted for legal, safety, fraud-prevention, or operational reasons.
8. Your choices
- You can update much of your profile and preferences in the app.
- You can turn certain drops and email preferences on or off where settings are available.
- You can block users where the feature is available and report content or behavior to support.
- You can request account or data deletion by contacting support@campusdrop.social.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect CampusDrop. No online service can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so please use care with what you share and tell us promptly if you believe your account or data may be at risk.
10. Children and student eligibility
CampusDrop is intended for college and university students. It is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to CampusDrop, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.
11. International users
CampusDrop may process information in countries other than where you live. By using the service, you understand that your information may be processed where our team or service providers operate, subject to applicable law.
